Shiatsu Acupressure Body-Mind Workshops

“It was wonderful, I felt all the tension and energy drain down from my head and neck through my feet. So relaxing. I feel like a new woman” Caroline, Nursery School teacher.

“Blissful. My whole body felt blissful.”
Lionel, Managing Director, international company.

Shiatsu is known as ‘acupuncture without needles’. Was developed in Japan and uses Traditional Chinese Medicine concepts e.g. yin and yang, 5 transformations, etc. as some foundation principles. It is a therapeutic touch treatment given fully clothed on a padded floor mat. Regular shiatsu treatments are a way to increase your overall vitality and well being. Helping you through the pressures of daily life or just to feel good!

Learning simple Shiatsu is ideal for relaxation and improved sense of self awareness. The positive health effects encompass many specific issues including sleep, mobility, pain and symptom control, creating a positive attitude to life, enhanced mental clarity, concentration and energy levels. Treatment can release muscle stiffness and tension, reduce pain and support self body healing.

Mobilise Mind and Body

"the exercises from your class are the only thing I've continued from last year (One World camp). Bite sized pieces to take away, easily digested! I'm still friends now with a women I teamed up with last year in a pairs exercise." Rachel, Nutrition Therapist

This is for you if you wake up still feeling tired and would like to get fitter with increased energy levels. You may even look and feel younger and easier than you thought!

"I used Mobilise Mind and Body as part of my post operative recovery programme and to assist detoxification of the anaesthesia side effects. In fact a few hours after surgery found me by my bedside using a simple qi gong movement with conscious breathing. This I found most empowering physiologically and physically rewarding." Linzi Martin, therapist

Mobilise Mind & Body, evolved from various eastern methods to bring your body and mind into alignment with harmony and balance. Used regularly it helps us to become more effective communicators, reduce that stressed out feeling, improve our quality of health generally and ‘take time out for ourselves’.

The basis of this movement programme is qi gong. This ancient system is fundamental to improving the health of body and mind. In our modern times its application has evolved from being a simple stress management and longevity promoting tool, to that of an integrated system of self awareness for the benefit of mind and body.

Mobilise Mind & Body contains both static and dynamic movements. It is ideal for wheelchair users and for the partially physically impaired.

The exercises and movements work on different areas of the body to stimulate and revitalise internal organs and relieve tension. We use:

breathwork
visualisation
relaxation and physical movement
.
The aim is to make it a healthful, practical experience being part of your daily routine.
Ideal to incorporate in a brief break at work or home
.

Linzi has been providing Mobilise Mind & Body classes at the Bletchingly Skills Centre since early 2005. The centre offers a place where physically and mentally impaired adults can develope and learn new skills towards providing them with greater independent living and integration into the community.

Venue, Duration & Fees: At your office or club. Fees dependent upon location, time and arrangements.

“Using the remedies I am able to put my ideas into practice and to be pro-active whereas before I had great ideas but was unfocused. This has really helped my business move on.” Mark, Designer, Oxted

Bach Flower Get Togethers are for small groups of people (e.g. new mums, retirees, work colleagues or club etc.) which meet regularly with Linzi for on going self support and learning focusing around the Bach Flower Remedies. Each session includes some ‘time out’ and relaxation. This forms part of our journey of discovery to eventually finding our own remedy 'type' and emotional moods for our current life situations and then to make up a personal remedy bottle.

Venue, Duration & Fees: Westerham (Kent/Surrey border) and local to you. Duration 2-3 hrs, from £20 per person, or by arrangement.

BACH FLOWER REMEDIES
Nature's Healers to Balance our Emotions

They are an energy medicine system of ‘healing by restoring harmony in awareness’. Developed in the 1930’s by Dr. Edward Bach who was a Harley Street medical doctor also trained in Homoeopathy. Dr Bach saw the connection between mental and physical wellbeing and health. Dr Bach observed that two people can have the same disease taking the same medicine but perhaps both will not be cured. Our emotional state of health has such a profound effect on how we manage dis-ease and our quality of life. By using remedies for each individual's mood state and emotions their health and well being can be supported. The remedies are a simple (safe for babies & pregnancy) method to assist alongside other forms of treatment, orthodox medical or otherwise with no adverse side effects. They are non addictive and are simple to use.

What are the Bach Flower Essences used for?

The 38 remedies that Dr Bach developed are used to ‘smooth over the rough edges of life’.

Examples of where Bach Flowers can be used:
taking exams
fear of flying or public speaking etc
bereavement
at times of illness
exhaustion
relationship difficulties/divorce
times of transition ie moving house/work.
... and in many other situation

Bach flower remedies help to release your positive potential for all sorts of daily situations where you deserve a little help along life’s colourful journey.

Clearing Clutter & Creating An Altar

Course 5 weeks with W.E.A., Bletchingley starting January 16th 2008. Other courses may be established during the year.
You may have a house or office fullof 'stuff', that has accumulated over the years to satisfy our desires, our material and practical living needs and then abandoned in the loft, basement, tidied away in the cupboard as 'it's going to be useful one day'. That day is now!

Clutter is one of my favourite subjects to discuss with people, yet it is a remarkably sensitive subject and an emotive one. I am not perfect at clearing it either, however it is often very useful to have an unbiased opinion to help in establishing what and how and when to do it.

The wonderful thing about clearing clutter is that there are so many benefits that come from this activity. It is a win win situation and everyone in the family/workplace can be part of it and reap the rewards.

On this workshop you'll:

discover what is and what is not clutter.
the benefits of de-cluttering
discuss practical suggestions of what to do with it
how our emotions and health energy are so affected by this 'stuff'
how to use Bach Flower Essences (Remedies) to help clear and cleanse the 'energy' and help us to help ourselves with de-cluttering

Altars

I've used an Altar or special place for years and have found it so useful in my daily life. If you follow a religious belief then you probably have some item(s) that relate to this belief and have them displayed in a clear and/or special location within your home space. An Altar space is similar, although in the context of this workshop it is not necessarily of a religious nature. Altars have been used throughout human existance and are now becoming popular again as we relearn about meditation and spirtually orientated beliefs. An Altar space can also be used for displaying family items or anything which we are connected with.

As part of the De-Cluttering workshop we will incorporate the concept of an Altar space.

What is it?
Where can one be used?
Involving the whole family
How to create your own special space
Exploring techniques of meditation or 'quietness'
... A positive step forward in creating a work-life balance

This workshop is kept to small numbers to make it more personal to the attendees. It's structure is based on discussion, hands-on and exploring with guidance from the tutor. Come along with an open mind, plans of your home or office and be ready to diarise your clutter clearing activities!
