Eye Exercises
Two short videos created as Quicktime movies which demonstrate simple movements for eye health based around eye protection exercises developed from traditional Chinese techniques.

The aim of these eye exercises and self massage is to relax the eyes, to improve circulation around the eye area and ease any tension buildup. This may help to prevent the onset of a headache, tired/dry eyes and create a 'refreshed' feeling after only a few minutes.

The practical exercises include massaging various acupressure points around the eyes and this can help to prevent near sightedness because it improves the adaptability of the eye muscles, reduces spasm and improves circulation.

You may also find that by incorporating these exercises into your daily health routine there is a reduction in 'crows feet' lines / wrinkles around the eyes. (This comment is made in conjunction with living a healthful lifestyle.)

OTHER SIMPLE EYE EXERCISES

  • Rolling the eyeballs to the left in circles, then circles to the right - 7 times each way. Finish by closing eyes tightly for a moment then opening them wide fairly quickly about 7 times.

  • Pinching with finger and thumb between the corner of the eye and the bridge of the nose, pinch and release about 36 times.

  • Using finger and thumb to massage the nose bridge with an upward movement then downward movement.

  • Palming the eyes using the palm of each hand over closed eyes, resting your elbow on a table/desk and 'just be' for a while soaking in the quiet and warmth.
